Me(Right) and my brother(Left).
Hello, my name is Andrea and I'm 23.
I'm attending my last (I hope) year of Electronic Engineering.
I live in Padova with my mother Susi, my father Maurizio and my brother Niccolò; he is 21 and he is studying at university too.
I'm friendly and outgoing; I like going out with my friends. I like music and I play the guitar.
I'm funny but at the same time I'm hard-working.
I like sports and I play football in the Valsugana 98 team. I like going to the mountains for excursions and climbing.
I think this exchange is a good opporunity for me to improve my English and to get to know new people.
Bye Bye
Andrea
Week 1
I spoke with Frances Jean Crow. She is a very nice women and she speaks Italian well and slowly.
She likes travelling and she likes Italy because her grandparents were Italian.
She likes spending her time with friends and she likes playing bridge.
Our conversation was rich with topics and Frances had many questions for me in Italian.
After a brief black-out we spoke in English and it was difficult for me, but I have to say thank you
to Frances because she was very patient with me.
Week 2
Today we tolked abaut envinronmental problems.
I lerned many things about New Orleans.
This time was less difficult than first time to understand English so I'm satisfied with this
conversation. I learned some new English (or American) words and the pronunciation.
Week 3
Today we tolked abaut shows, cinema, theater, TV ...
We spoke a long time in Italian and Frances was very curious and interesting abaut this topics.
Frances knows "Festival di San Remo" and this is incredible for me... she knows some Italian movies
and she knows Marco Paolini. She likes cassical music and she loves the Opera.
In New Orleans there are a lot of festival like "strawberries festival" and "jazz festival" that is very famous in USA.
In New Orleans there are some cinemas with 15 halls and you pay 5 dollars, less than here in Italy.
Like in Italy, for children, senior and students there is a special price.
I learned that in USA there is a public channel on TV without publicity. This is a dream in Italy...
Week 4
Today we had a very interesting discussion abaut political system, Parliament, elections ...
I learned the difference between President and State Governor and the function of Supreme Court.
I tolked abaut Italian political system but I had some difficults because our system is very complicated.
There are a lot of difference beteween Italy and USA but one thing is the same... politicians does everything to have votes.
At the end of conversation we tolked abaut education and I agree with Frances when she said that it's very important
for a State to have equality in educational system.
Week 5
Today we had a very interesting discussion abaut multi-cultural society ...
I learned that in America there are some problems with drugs or alcohol like in Italy, especially for young people.
The problem of immigration is differnt because in America there is more control on the border. In Italy the isn't control
and there isn't a border because we are in European Community. In America there is a lot of immigrnat (Africa,Japan,Vietnam,Cuba
Honuras,Mexico...) that come for work; usually immigrants are a good man power and in Louisiana work like ploughman.
In America there are quota immigrants for each countries and the clandestine have to return in them country, differently than Italy.
Week 6
Today we had a video-skype converstaion ...
At the beginning we were shy but Mario "broke the ice" and after we made some questions without problems.
It was beautiful to see the people that speak with you. American fiends was more shy than our but I think that was the camera
that threaten. For me this exchange was a very good experience and if Frances want, we can skype again sometimes.
