I like cookies, so I'm going to give you a simple Italian recipe for cooking a delicious dessert. I think if you translate this recipe and you follow it step by step, you will eat the best cakes you have ever eaten in your life. Remember that these cakes are light because you use a lot potatoes and a little flour. I'm sure you're insatiable

Italian frittelle recipe:
Ingredienti:
Patate farinose 1kg (diventano circa 8 hg cotte e pelate)
Sale 3 pizzichi
Uova 3
Zucchero 250g
Farina 300g
Lievito polvere per dolci 1 bustina paneangeli
Due bucce d’arancia e 1 di limone gratugiate
Succo d’arancia 2 cucchiai da minestra
Tazzina di grappa
2 cucchiai di anice (vedi ricetta frate indovino)
Uvetta 220 g
Preparazione:
1. Lavare e asciugare l’uvetta e porla in una tazzina in ammollo con la grappa.
2. Cucinare le patate e togliere le bucce appena pronte (se si usa la pentola a pressione sbucciarle prima perchè si fa prima)
3. Passare le patate e mescolarle con lo zucchero metà dose
4. Sbattere le 3 uova intere (non sbattere a parte il tuorlo dall’albume) mettendo 3 pizzichi di sale e lo zucchero rimanente
5. Aggiungere alle patate le uova.
6. Mettere il lievito
7. Mescolare con la farina aggiungendo, l’uvetta e la grappa di ammollo
8. Aggiungere 2 cucchiai di anice (vedi ricetta frate indovino)
9. Se l’impasto fosse troppo denso, aggiungere un po’ di succo d’arancia.
IMPORTANTE:
1. Le patate devono essere ancora calde.
2. L’impasto deve risultare morbido e soffice e deve staccarsi dal cucchiaio con pesantezza.
3. Ora prendere una pentola alta (capacità circa 3 L) mettere a bollire 1,5 litri di olio da frittura, quando è caldo mettere una prima trance di impasto fatto a palline con due cucchiai da caffè.
4. Fare bollire fino a quando assumono un colore ambrato.
NOTE: se le frittelle fanno troppi becchi allora è necessario rivedere l’impasto aggiungendo ancora un po’ di farina
Traslation:
Ingredients:
Potatoes 1kg (become approximately 8 hg cooked and peelings)
salt 3 bits
Eggs 3
Sugar 250g
Flour 300g
one packet of yeast
Two peels of grated orange and 1 of lemon
2 spoons orange juice
1 cup of grappa
2 spoons of anise (you see prescription frate indovino)
Currants 220 g
Preparation:
1. Wash and dry the currants and put them in a cup with the grappa.
2. Cook the potatoes and remove the peels (if you use a pressure cooker you can remove the peels before cooking them)
3. Smash the potatoes mixxing them with half dose of sugar
4. Beat 3 whole eggs with 3 bits of salt and the remaining sugar
5. Add the eggs to the potatoes.
6. Add the yeast.
7. Stir with the flour adding currants and the grappa.
8. Add 2 spoons of anise (you see prescription Frate Indovino) It's a secret ingredient :-)
9. If the batter is too much dense, add a little orange juice.
IMPORTANT:
1. The potatoes must still be warm.
2. The batter must turn out soft and must be detached from the spoon with difficulty.
3. Now take a high pot (capacity approximately 3 L) boil 1,5 liters of frying oil. Make little balls of batter with two teaspoons.
4. Fry the balls until they turn light brown.
NOTE: If the frittelle don't come out round from the frying pan, add a little flour to the batter.

I think you know the situation in southern Italy. I have no words to describe it. It’s an absurd situation: Southern Italy pays to send its trash to Germany so that Germany can use it to produce electric power that it then resells to Italy.
Why has this happened? Because some people are against building an electric thermal trash incinerators. But I think that the true reason is that there is a lot of mafia.
Fortunatly I live in a beautiful town in the north of Italy. We have been separating our trash for many years. This helps us save resources and help the environment.

When you come to Italy you have to know that there are many differeces from Tulane. If you go on google earth you can see this difference... and you can see my university :-) The blue bilding is the bus station and the university is where the red A is.

This is my first experience whith Skype. It's wonderfull!! It's incredible how we can use the new tecnology. We can speack with people who are hundreds of miles away in real time and we can meet people who are learning my language and have the patience to teach me their language! It is wonderful to learn English this way. It is better than doing a traslation or reading a book or listening to a CD.
With skype it is as if we are raising the blockade or something. I'm lucky because my Skype-friend spoke slowly, so I could understand. I like skype! :-)

To share same connection difficulty for started is went good, but it was wery hard! Is more difficult explain to one person for another country the machinery of our state - craft. The U.S.A. 's politics is more simple than Italian's politics: one time every six years all parlaments go at home and politics restart.
In Italy between partnership, joump to right or left, confidence or no confidence our politics appear to sticking to your chair and even if happan that for one person go down the government they unstick. And after there are some thing that only in Italy exist. For example one tax I.C.I. (I don't think that Chris understand that I.C.I. exist truly). Or the senators for life ( I don't know why, but they get up the meddle popolation age). Fortunatly for Chris, Mauro know better than me the politic's machinery and so we have had a good discussion. I think is useful speack in three or four person, so we can help whith some word that understand.
