I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Padova since 1995. I teach at the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Languages. I went to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie New York. Then, I came to Italy to study in the 1992-1993 school year, went back to the States to graduate in 1994 and have been living in Padova ever since! My husband is Italian (this would be why I came back!) and I have two young boys, Tobia who is 7 and Antonio who is 5. I'm passionate about technology for language learning (as my poor students know!) and focusing on culture as part of language studies.

Alessia Ferrara

Hi friends! I'm 25 years old and I'm one of your new italian friends. I really hope we'll enjoy this exciting experience. I've been stdudying English for almost ten years and now I'm attending the last semester of a Master's level degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Padova. I live with my family (and with my two lovely dogs)in Arzergrande a small and peaceful town not very far from the University. I must admit that I've been dreaming USA since I was a child even if I still know your country only through the eyes of film directors! Everything there seems to be so big, large, enormous...highways, libraries, buildings and hot dogs! Considering that I've never been abroad, after my graduation I'm going to leave Italy for a long period...I really need to experience something new! Do you want to know something more about me? Feel free to enter my blog and to leave a comment! http://youlikealessiaf.blogspot.com/

Hi! My name’s Martina and I’m 23 years old. I study Spanish and English at the University of Padua, I’m attending the second (and last) year of a Master’s level degree in Foreign Languages for International Communication. I like studying languages very much and besides English and Spanish, I studied Portuguese and German. I live with my family (and our rabbit Pancake ;-)) in Maerne, a very little town near Venice. It’s about 40 kilometres far from Padua, so I have to catch two trains every day to go at university! I play volleyball and in my spare time I like going out with my friends and playing the guitar. My peers and I have a personal blog...If you want, take a look at mine! Feel free to leave comments, I'd like to know more about you all! See you soon! :-)

Eleonora Carta

Hi, my name is Eleonora and I am 23. I am attending my 5th year at university (hopefully it is going to be the last one :-) ) and I have been studying English for almost 13 long years. In my free time I like reading, watching movies, going out with my friends and doing some sport. Being a student of foreign languages I love traveling and getting to know other cultures...So I am really looking forward to starting this exchange :-)

From this experience I expect to learn more about your country and way of living; I hope my spoken English will get better and that I will be able to help you with your Italian :-)

Hello everybody!! My name is Elena, I’m one of your Italian partners and next Sunday I’m going to celebrate my twenty-fourth birthday…oh gosh, I’m growing old!!! I study English and Spanish at university but I speak a little bit of French and Arabic as well. Strange but true, I’m one of the very few students of my corso di laurea who live in this tiny but beautiful medieval city: in Padua you can find both many traces of the past and places where you can have a good time with your friends. In my spare time I like reading books and going to the cinema; I’m not very keen on sports, I have to admit it, but for two years I’ve been attending a course of ice skating and I’m very satisfied with my progress! If you want to know more about me and what we did in class last semester, visit my blog and feel free to leave any comment! See you soon!

Hello there! My name is Anna, I'm 23 and I’m attending the final year of the Master Degree in ‘Foreign Languages for intercultural communication’ at the University of Padua, Italy. In my spare time I love reading, watching movies and catching up with friends. In the past years I’ve become more and more fond of latin-american dances, and I’m actually training in order to take part in competitions.

Nicoletta Marini-Maio

Insegno lingua, cultura e cinema italiano a Dickinson College dall'autunno 2007.

All'università, studio la psicologia e l'italiano.

Leah Barreras

Ciao a tutti! Mi piaciono i libri e i film e mi piace fare yoga e correre.

 ELISA ROSSI

Hello everybody! My name is Elisa, I’m 23 and I live in San Bonifacio, a small town between Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet!) and Vicenza. I attend the second  and last year of Foreign Languages for International Communication in Padua. I’ve been studying English for 13 years, German for 9 years and French for 6 years. I like swimming, reading and cooking and I love to discover new and foreign recipes. I love nature and I often go to the mountain for tracking. However, I really love (and I prefer) sea, beaches, sun and summer!  The blog I created thanks to this course is www.elisaquietcorner.blogspot.com.

bye!!!

Sarah:Hello everyone. Since this wiki is 'open' we need to be very careful about copyright. Images are more than welcome, but you have to be sure they aren't covered by copyright. The safest way to do this is to either upload one of your own pics :-) or go to www.flickr.com and only choose pics covered by a Creative Commons license. Look for a picture you like, then go to the bottom of the page and click on "Creative Commons". Sarah
