Contents and Organization (Federico Fiorentin)
Does it do what it’s supposed to do? This would depend on whether or not there is an Introduction. If there isn't one, should there be one? Is there a table of contents?
Yes it does. There are both an introduction and a table of contents, which are very clear and well done. We like it!
Is there a comparison or are there conclusions?
Yes, the whole work is based on the comparison between Padova and Dickinson. there is a brief conclusion wirh comparisons, but we don't think that a conclusion is so important: such a wiki page is just a presentation of contents. Comparison and conclusion is up to each reader.
What do you like about it? (be specific)
It's well organized, clear to read (nice tables) and there are nice pictures and videos. We liked the colours, as well.
Is there cohesion?
Well, each section is independent from the others but once together they give a nice overall idea of the college life in the two universities.
Is it relatively easy to read? If not, what could the writer do to make it easier for the reader?
Yes, it's easy and pleasant to read.
Is there balance and parallelism?
We don't understand the meaning of this question, but we would say yes if it refers to the organization of the texts. They're balanced and coherent.
Is referencing done correctly?
Yes, the only thing missing is the "last updated" info (but it's a matter of choice)
Are there parts that appear that they should be referenced, but are not?
Since we're not into the topic, we trust our peers.
Can you find any instances of plagiarism?
In our opinion everything is original or well re-written.
Are there enough links to outside sources?
Yes there are. They are in the footnotes.
Length - are the paragraphs too long? too wordy?
Well, the paragraphs there are not too long. However we think that everything is a little bit too long. It could frighten the reader.
Structure - is there a clear structure divided into paragraphs?
Yes, the structure is quite clear.
Is there any use of multimedia?
Yes, there are nice pictures and a couple of interesting videos.
Language
Are there sentence fragments or any run-on sentences?
The sentences are not too long. from my brief reading of the whole page, I can say that the sentences seem well written.
Are the verb tenses used correctly?
Yes, I think so. As far as I am concerned the verbs are used correctly. There are only three short forms I would not use in a written text (in "STUDENTS' PARTIES IN AMERICA" and "FINAL SUMMARY".
Are there words that need to be checked for spelling?
No, they all seem correct.
Are the beginning of sentences and proper nouns capitalized?
Yes. There's just a capital letter missing at the beginning of the paragraph "GREEK ORGANIZATIONS NOWADAYS".
Do sentences have appropriate ending punctuation?
Yes, they have.
Is internal punctuation (comma, colon, semicolon) used appropriately?
Well, I'm not that good in writing and checking internal punctuation, but I think it was ok. Nothing made the reading difficult or uncomprehensible.
Are pronouns used correctly?
Yes, they are.
Is the appropriate vocabulary used?
Yes, the vocabulary is quite easy and appropriate (it's also specific when needed).
