Living with other young adults of the same or different sex was a totally new phenomenon in the 1960s and 1970s.Before 1960 most young adults in the United States lived at home with their parents until marriage. The fact of leaving home is strictly connected with the possibility of buy or rent a house. However, the trends suggest that there are more young adults who live with a partner or with parents and fewer who can maintain married couples or family households of their own. This is basically due to economic factors.<br />The likelihood of young children to become adults come true through an important economic change.
